Whilst it was never really on the table, a sooner-than-expected surgery recovery and a late minute registration allowed Fred Eather from the Donkeys BC to compete in the K2 QLD Youth State Boulder Titles last weekend. The event was hosted at Flow Bouldering on the Sunshine Coast.
Interstate competitors are allowed to do so in our sport and applicable for all states in these individual events.
Fred topped all qualifier routes and two for the four in Finals to win the event in his 14 yrs age category (called Youth B). It's all in the name of gaining experience leading into next years nationals with an eye on the World Youth Championships 2024. One step at a time.
Fred and Cooper Gale will head to compete at the Vic Youth Boulder titles next weekend.
