Both the Opens and the high school teams headed into finals as favourites. But on the night things took a different spin.
The high school team saw the regular face of Declan Lewis move up to Opens and Liam Marsh stepped in. The team seemed to miss Declan's flamboyant approach but Jake Wilson and Jack Mitchell were the key figureheads to lead the way. In the end it took a stand-out performance from the Honey Badgers to take the title from the grasps of the Donkeys looking for back-to-back championships.
It was a similar story in the opens.
Some small underperformances in micro moments by the Donkeys and a Honey Badgers team that really stepped up on the night saw the Honey Badgers take the title ... again dammit!
It was close. It doesn't take much and this high-octane compressed format is uncompromising.
So it's well done to everyone regardless of expectations and onto T4L 25 we go stronger because of the experience.
