It was neck and neck the whole way right up to the last boulder but it was the Donkeys who pulled away to take round one points.

With Lachie McNee powering through B1 in a boulder that suits his style the optimism was in the air early.  Henry George followed suit and the Badgers were off to a healthy start.  B2 didn't unfold as well as it could have but at half time the scores were basically equal.

The team worked really well at times and a little disjointed at others but this is only round one and it was always going to be the case.  After three boulders it was anyone's game and it came down to the last boulder to determine the outcome.  Credit where it's due - they were a little better on the night.

However, we deserve to feel optimistic as there's clearly plenty more in the tank.  Teamwork and synergy is something that takes time to develop so in the grand scheme of things this was a good night with plenty of learnings to be had.  Bring on the Hornets.
