The Donkeys continued their early season good form by taking out round two against the Hornets last night in a high scoring affair.

Boulder A started well for the Hornets piling on 97 points whilst the Donkeys struggled to put together Boulder B only reaching zone 1 for all players and not unpacking it in time accumulating only 25 points.  However, both teams found both boulders quite similar and went into half time with Donkeys ahead 136 to 127.

It was Boulder C that really separated the two teams. A lengthy pumpy section finished off with a tricky stacked-knee bar was required and the Donkeys pulled through this 40 points in front.  It was hard to chase down from here and the Donkeys ended winning round two 358 - 284.

Cooper Gale led from the front on the night coming out as Breaker in all four problems and was well supported by the team.  Jack Mitchel showed his physical strength and Jake Wilson continued to impress.  Lachie Butters and Fred Eather were solid in the midfield and the team worked together well on the night to come away with a sound result.

This was game one for the Hornets and it could so easily have been really close on the scoreboard.  When Lachie French moved past zone 1 on Boulder B an upset was on the horizon.  In the end, the team was led well by Col Cowell and all players performed really well.  They'll most certainly be building on this for round 3 against the Honey Badgers.
