Archie represents Australia in Dallas
The 2022 Youth World Championship was held in Dallas Texas in late August. Local Tamworth athlete Archie Eather represented Australia in Boulder in the 14/15 yr old category.
Under no illusions about the quality of competition he was expecting, he set his goals optimistically on making the top 20 and qualifying for the semi finals. However, on the day his performance was below his usual standards and he finished 40th. Arch was personally disappointed in the outcome because he knows he could have done better. Competition at this level is totally unforgiving and it wasn't his day. However, within himself he knows where he stands and the learnings from this experience are enormous.
Japan and the US led the way and showed tremendous strength and depth with strong representations in the finals across many categories. Australia's Maxim Pare in Junior Male was the only athlete to make the semi finals across all categories in Boulder and finished a well deserved 15th.
We're proud of Archie's efforts n the event, leading up to this event and throughout 2022.
We're also super grateful for all the support from family and friends in our local community and beyond. Thank you.
